What it is

Large earthworms (Lumbricus terrestris) — the universal freshwater bait and the trout angler's standby in SoCal's stocked lakes. Also a pier-perch and catfish bait. Sold by the dozen at every tackle shop; "trout worms" (smaller red worms) are the finesse variant.

How to hook / rig it
